Where Nature, Movement, and Rest Come Together

Building Cuyuna Cove

Growing up in Minnesota, we spent as much time outside as possible in every season and kind of weather. Long days in the sun, rain on our faces, the sound of leaves moving through the trees, and snowy pine forests shaped how we understood adventure, rest, and connection.

As adults, we noticed how easy it is to drift indoors toward screens, schedules, and busy routines. Cuyuna Cove was created as an answer to that. Located on the edge of historic Crosby, Minnesota, Cuyuna Cove offers trail-connected cabins and seasonal glamping bungalows next to Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area.

Built through years of hands-on work, problem-solving, and determination, Cuyuna Cove welcomed its first guests in July 2020. From the beginning, the vision was simple: create a place that makes it easy to get outside, move your body, try something new, and enjoy the best of Cuyuna.

The property connects directly to the Cuyuna trail system, including more than 70 miles of world-class mountain biking, a scenic paved trail that winds through the mine lakes, additional gravel routes, and crystal-clear waters perfect for paddling, kayaking, and swimming. Coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, and the small-town charm of Crosby are all just minutes away.

Today, Cuyuna Cove offers year-round cabins and seasonal glamping bungalows designed for couples, solo travelers, and guests traveling with dogs. Spend your days riding red dirt trails, paddling the mine lakes, exploring Main Street Crosby, or relaxing in our redwood sauna. Then return to campfires, good food, stargazing, and comfortable evenings surrounded by the Northwoods.

Our cabins have become a favorite for couples, not because they isolate you from the world, but because they create space to be present. Fewer distractions. More movement. Better sleep. The kind of getaway that stays with you long after you leave.

We're truly thankful you're here. Cuyuna Cove exists because guests choose thoughtful places and meaningful experiences. Your stay supports a small, independent business and the continued care of this special corner of Minnesota.

A Natural Extension of our Work

Cuyuna Cove is part of a larger body of work we do through Braun Austin Co. — our hospitality design and development studio focused on creating places that invite people into nature, movement, and meaningful rest.

We believe getting people outdoors isn’t just about a place to stay. It’s about how a space is designed, how it feels to arrive, and how easily life slows once you’re there. Our work centers on building boutique hospitality properties that balance adventure and restoration, design and durability, effort and ease.

Through Braun Austin Co., we design, develop, and steward nature-led hospitality spaces — including Cuyuna Cove and Tofte Trails — with a long-term view toward thoughtful growth, sustainable investment, and experiences that genuinely support well-being.
